The pianist Nina Gurol and the percussionist Vanessa Porter open in their program "58 MINUTES" a musical-artistic perspective on a highly topical societal discourse. Every 52-58 minutes, a person in Germany takes their own life. Suicides are not a problem of marginalized groups - they are everyday occurrences.
The pianist Nina Gurol and the percussionist Vanessa Porter open in their program "58 MINUTES" a musical and artistic perspective on a highly topical societal discourse. Every 52-58 minutes, a person in Germany takes their own life. Suicides are not a problem of marginalized groups - they are everyday occurrences. How do we, as a society and as individuals, deal with this taboo subject? In addition to a commissioned composition by Emil Kuyumcuyan and a reinterpretation by Farzia Fallah, various compositions specially developed for this program for voice will also be heard. Developed by the two artists Sophie Emilie Beha and Vincent Stange, these vocal parts will thread through the concert like a red thread. This creates an open, aesthetic space for encounter with the topic and the associated horizons of experience. With works by Robert Schumann, Farzia Fallah, Emil Kuyumcuyan, Sebastian Zel, Michio Kitazume, Sophie Emilie Beha, and Vincent Stange. Suicide is a way to die.
